When the female WhiteSpike is transported to Deepswell-9 a monitor displays her vital signs. The SpO2 (peripheral oxygen saturation) is shown as 102%. SpO2 is the percent ratio of oxygenated hemoglobin to total (oxygenated + deoxygenated) hemoglobin. Measurement errors imposed by the alien physiology aside, with the denominator being greater or, at a minimum, equal (if deoxyhemoglobin is zero) to the numerator, it is numerically impossible to obtain an Sp02 value greater than 100. However, for alien metabolism, an "over-saturation" capability could be possible, getting over the normal 100% saturation.
