During the final climactic scene (at about 1:42), several artillery pieces fire on free-rotating wheels, bucking backward after each round. These appear to be modern Howitzers, which use hydraulic recoil mechanisms to reduce the need to re-aim the weapon after each discharge. The barrels should recoil, but the carriage (and wheels) should remain fixed in place so the gun can fire repeatedly on the same target. Older cannon bucked erratically after each round (as shown incorrectly in this film), requiring extra effort to re-position and re-aim the gun (e.g., as deployed in the US Civil War).
