Twice in the film as both stars of the film, Jose Ferrer and Gena Rowlands, are leaving their home in separate cars they 'honk' their horns at each other as a friendly gesture, however Gina is driving a VW Beetle and the sound of the horn that she beeps is that of a domestic American car and not the iconic little 'beep beep' that a VW Beetle would sound.
