There are some hints in season 1 (see S01E04 and S01E19) that suggest Phoebe sees premonitions in color while viewers see her premonitions in black and white. However, as the show progresses, viewers go from see her premonitions in silent, black and white, to see her premonitions in living colors and audio, and is implied as a progression of her Power.
