Indy keeps a cat, but there's no indication where its litter box is located. Seen only in Indy's arms, its treatment within the house is extremely vague, with no trace of any abuse from association with Indy. It, in fact, presents no impact on the family at all but has free rein (enough to slip outside and get hit by a car).
