In the beginning when Bard escapes his cell in Laketown by using rope tied at one end to the bars on the window of his cell and at the other end a loop to catch the hook on the back of the Master's boat which is passing underneath, Watch carefully, the first tug that bends the bars happens before the rope is pulled tight by the hook on the back of boat.
