When Frankenstein is thrown from the windmill, his body hits the wind wheel driving it to rotate anticlockwise. In the next shot, it rotates clockwise again. The windmill sails only changed direction because of the impact of Henry's body, so once he'd fallen away from the sail, it was free to resume its normal course.
