(at around 1h 55 mins) The movie falsely states that Priests cannot truly be elected as the Pope. However, they can be elevated to the rank of Bishop, and can therefore take office. Furthermore, any unmarried, male Catholic layman can be elected as the Pope and would then be promoted to the rank of Priest and Bishop consecutively.
