When Katherine does the work on the blackboard to show that the Redstone rocket will fail to put the capsule into orbit, something that had, in fact, been worked out by von Braun's rocket team years before, she writes "= 3059 Km or 1,900 MI"
NASA engineers and computers at the time did not work in km at all, and even if they had, they would not write it first.
