By all accounts, the murder of Madame D. apparently occurred on October 19, 1932, and yet the typewritten deposition describing it which Kovacs shows to Zero is dated one week before the event. An official stamp at the bottom of the page bears the handwritten date "12-10-32," which, when read in European notation as Day-Month-Year, would be 12th October, 1932, a full week before the Madame D's murder. (No one in Europe would read that in the American manner of Month-Day-Year, or December 10, 1932, and that would not fit the chronology anyway.)
