When Turing confronts Denniston about how Hugh has denied him funding, he talks about how the Enigma machine is based on a three-wheel machine but is "infinitely more complex". Since Turing is one of the top mathematicians in the world, and especially in light of the efforts taken to depict him as an obsessive type who takes everything literally, it is unlikely that he would use this language. Although the 159 million million million combinations possible is a large number, Turing would not see this as infinity.
