When the mother takes the photos of Lauren, the red light blinks and the flash goes off. However in the following shots when James arrives the mom takes photos but there is no red light blinking or flash going off. Apparently, the actress is just touching the button but not pressing it thus no photos are really being taken and the clicking sound was probably added on afterward.
