The motorcycle chase happens between South Vancouver, Downtown Vancouver, East Vancouver, Burnaby and North Vancouver - the amount of traffic congestion to get to these places would not allow a car chase at any given day or night period - simply because of the way the roads are designed - and driving through the warehouse / sandpit area is gated off with high security. Driving in without having to stop and show identification and a clearance and without having to wait for a gate to be opened is not possible.
