When Luca is on the train at the end of the film, the direction of the rain changes just to ensure he doesn't get wet prematurely. Before Luca enters the tunnel, the rain is coming from the right of the screen in shots focused on Luca (so the train shields him) whereas it is falling straight down in shots focused on Alberto. When Luca exits the tunnel, the rain is coming from the left of the screen and Luca finally gets wet.
