At the beginning, Professor Hayes is referencing different earthquakes that have occurred, and cites the one that hit Chile in 1960, and that it generated a tsunami that hit Hilo, Hawaii. He mentions that Hawaii is 8,000 miles from Chile. In fact Hawaii is 6,800 miles from Chile.
