Forrest calls the hotel desk at Watergate to report what would be the infamous burglarizing of the Democratic National Committee headquarters. However, the office building portion of the Watergate, was on the Northeast side of the hotel. The hotel rooms are oriented Northwest and Southeast, and meet the office building at almost a T intersection. Neither Forrest, nor any other guest of the hotel, would have been able to see the burglars in action.
