When Thorin was knocked back to the edge of the waterfall, he stabs the orc in the neck with the broken sword in his right hand and throws him over the edge taking the sword with him. In the overhead view of another orc walking toward Thorin, he is holding the broken sword again in his right hand and in the closeup of Thorin, his right hand is empty again.
