Germany did not actually invade Wales in WW2, with ground troops. The Luftwaffe did terrible damage to the entire UK island, but 'the Brits' held off ground troops.However, in May 1961, 16 years after the end of World War II, German Panzer tanks rolled through the streets of Carmarthenshire, Wales.
This incident is the subject of the ITV documentary, "I Was There".
