The film depicts the US-Mexico border near McAllen, Texas and Reynosa, Tamaulipas (Mexico) as a barbed wire fence separating both countries. In reality, the border between the US and Mexico is an internationally known body of water: the Rio Grande (Rio Bravo for Mexicans). The Rio Grande River meanders like a snake along the TX-MX border. In some places, the river is several hundred feet wide. In other places, it is only a few yards wide. A border wall (built several yards North of the river) exists along some parts of the Rio Grande Valley, while in other places there is only fencing or no barriers at all between the river and American soil. The Rio Grande Valley/Mexico border is 273 miles long. Currently there are 55 miles of "Primary Fencing" (made up of 18-foot tall steel bollards installed on top of a 4-6 ft. concrete wall).
