The moon is approximately 1% of the mass of the Earth. White dwarf's masses are hundreds of thousands of times greater than the Earth. Any object as massive as a white dwarf placed as close to us as the moon is normally would tear the Earth apart with no need to get any closer. The script even mentions the Roche Limit several times which is how you calculate the point where satellites are destroyed by the tidal forces of their parent body but misses this obvious flaw.
