In the showdown between Rooster and the four outlaws Rooster shoots Farrel and Harold Parmalee and then LaBouef shoots Ned. But there is no trace of the fourth member of Ned's gang. We see him hang over the side of his horse, using it for cover, but we never see him shot or run off. He just disappears from the meadow.
