A hospital staffer says they need more blood, specifically type AB Rh negative, and asks if any of the visitors have that type. The writers got it backwards: While it's true that people with a negative Rh must receive Rh-negative blood, blood type AB is the universal recipient. Anyone with a negative Rh could have donated the blood to the patient. The universal donor is type O, so those with type O are the ones who can only be transfused with the same blood type.Also, blood is being shown as going directly from one person to another. That's not even close to how blood donation and transfusion happens.
