After the aircraft comes to a complete stop, you see the flight attendant open the door, squat down, and drop the emergency evacuation slide out of the door, where it subsequently inflates. Before an airplane begins its taxi, the slide is affixed to the door, and is automatically deployed when the door opens. This is required by regulation.
