The rescue boat near the end is a Zodiac type vessel with an inflated stiff rubber body and a rigid fibreglass lower hull. When the one person could not break the heavy glass with a section of heavy metal piping, it is IMPOSSIBLE for a soft sided 'nerf boat' to shatter that same glass. It would have bounced off like a tennis ball.
