After Smiley Williams accidentally falls to his death, Eddie (as Judge Parker) asks Barbara to come to the apartment Smiley had occupied for hours, dressed for an evening out. She manages to avoid the entire aftermath of Smiley's unexpected demise directly outside the apartment building, which simply is not shown.
