When Ed is in the room taking photos of the murdered man the angle changes and the wall extends beyond the crown molding; it goes up out of sight, more then ten feet. Even thought this is an old one story motel.The motel, and by extension, the ceiling, are figments of Malcolm Rivers' split personality delusions.
