The girls taunt Evan near the end of the film, suggesting they would not have killed him because the entire thing was a joke; this completely ignores the fact that Louis - Evan's wife's assistant who arrived to pick up her artwork - died at least as an indirect result of their actions. In fact, Louis' death and the consequences it would have as a result of it are completely ignored for the rest of the film from that point on.
