In the New Orleans Police Department, as in most other agencies, new police officers must complete at least the first 16 weeks at the department with a Field Training Officer (FTO), and, although they can have multiple FTOs assigned to them, they are not allowed to take their FTO's shift for them or, to even work a double shift in the first place. So there's no way Alicia would have been paired up with Ofc. Deacon in the first place.
