When Bilbo Baggins climbs down from the mountain on a rope(to warn the others the dwarfs will fight to the death): first shot it's a short rope and does not reach the rocks, next comes the close-up where Bilbo jumps down to the rocks with a longer rope as it clearly touches the rocks, and the next shot the rope has mysteriously disappeared.
