(at around 17 mins) Claire states that Blue can pick up your scent a mile off and therefore you can't capture her. However, at the first encounter with Owen (at around 33 mins), Blue didn't pick up the scent of a dozen heavily armed mercenaries surrounding Blue and Owen.
