When the Terminator sees John for the first time, he looks to the right, and the sunlight is on the Terminator's chest and left side of his face. After the Terminator scans John's image just a second later the Terminator is still looking to the right going the same direction but the sunlight is now coming from the opposite side shining on his back and right side of his face, revealing the shot was either filmed much later or from a different direction.
