The children Hercules rescues in the gorge shout "Someone call IX-I-I!", using the Roman numerals for "9-1-1". In addition to the anachronism present in that the movie is set in Ancient Greece rather than Rome, the ancient Romans didn't even pronounce numbers like this. The Latin language had its own spoken words for each number (ex: "centum" for "one hundred"); it was only in writing that certain letters were used to denote them, as this was before Arabic numerals became widespread.
