Jane e Roxanne Ryan, gemelle diciassettenni, vanno a New York insieme ma per motivi diversi: Jane deve tenere un colloquio per accedere all'Università di Oxford; Roxy l'accompagna nella speranza di potersi intrufolare sul set di un videoclip di una rock band che le piace molto, e magari fargli avere un suo demo-tape.
