Lina è una ragazza timida e ricca. Un giorno conosce in treno Johnnie Aysgart, dongiovanni e giocatore. Nonostante venga a conoscenza di questi particolari, Lina si innamora di lui e lo sposa, rompendo per questo anche con la famiglia, contraria alle nozze. Johnnie continua la sua vita anche dopo il matrimonio; dopo aver perso il posto a causa di un piccolo furto, si mette in affari con l'amico Beaky. Lina sospetta che Johnnie voglia liberarsi di Beaky per impadronirsi della società e in effetti Beaky muore mentre è in viaggio con l'amico.
