La piccola Alice si assopisce mentre ascolta una fiaba e si mette a sognare. Insegue un coniglio nel cavo di un albero e finisce nel paese delle meraviglie. Il paese è popolato da una serie di strani e affascinanti esseri: Bianconiglio, lo Stregatto e la Regina di cuori. Alice beve strane pozioni che la fanno rimpicciolire o ingrandire ma, a un certo punto, deve fuggire perché la Regina l'ha condannata a morte.
