Durante la permanenza in carcere Doc ha studiato un piano infallibile per rubare una partita di gioielli. Quando esce si prepara a eseguirlo. Alonzo Emmerich, un avvocato di pochi scrupoli, accetta di aiutarlo procurandogli i soldi necessari, ottenendoli in prestito dallo strozzino Cobby. Il colpo riesce, anche se uno dei componenti della banda viene ucciso. Poi perĂ² le cose precipitano: tra scontri interni durante la divisione del bottino e intervento della polizia, la banda si sgretola.
