Tra l'ostilità degli abitanti del villaggio, Wolf von Frankenstein riprende possesso, con la moglie Elsa e il figlioletto Peter, del castello in cui il padre Henry aveva generato il mostro, trovando poi la morte. L'unico amico di Wolf è l'ispettore Krogh.
