Nel bucolico parco di Jellystone la vita scorre tranquilla per il ranger Smith (Tom Canavagh) e il suo vice, tranne che per qualche campeggiatore a cui viene scippato il cestino da pic-nic, furti reiterati messi in atto da un ingegnoso, estroverso e rarissimo orso bruno parlante di nome Yoghi assistito come sempre dall’amico di sempre Bubu.L’arrivo nel parco di Rachel (Anna Faris) una bella documentarista intenzionata a girare un documentario proprio su Yoghi, coinciderà con l’attuazione di un diabolico piano da parte del vanesio ed avido sindaco della città, che dopo aver dato fondo alle casse comunali è intenzionato a disboscare Jellystone per ricavarne una grossa somma di denaro con cui rimpinguare le proprie tasche e finanziare la campagna elettorale che lo vedrà in corsa come governatore.
