La moglie di un diplomatico inglese, insoddisfatta del suo matrimonio, si reca a Parigi in cerca di avventure galanti. In casa di una nobile decaduta incontra Anthony con il quale intreccia un flirt. Tornata a Londra, alcuni giorni dopo le viene presentato dal marito l'uomo che aveva incontrato. Torna a Parigi per rivederlo ma viene seguita dal marito che, insospettito, decide di scoprire la ragione dei suoi viaggi. Riesce però ad accomodare la situazione e a tornare col marito a Londra.
