Trinità, un pistolero pigro e indolente giunge in un villaggio dove ha la sorpresa di trovare suo fratello, nelle insolite vesti di sceriffo. In realtà costui, che è un ladro di bestiame, ha accettato l'incarico per poter mettere a segno impunemente un furto ai danni di un facoltoso proprietario di cavalli. Ma, i due fratelli si troveranno a dover difendere la comunità mormona dalla prepotenza di Harrison e dei suoi uomini.
