Marvin Piermont:
[in a fast-talking New York accent, standing near a horse-drawn carriage in front of a Bermuda hotel]
Well, here we are kids! Isn't this swell? What do you think about it?
Teenie Moore:
[in American accent]
Why?
Marvin Piermont:
What do you mean why? It's a grand place around here. Look at the atmosphere, and the horses are almost extinct.
Teenie Moore:
Yeah, I noticed it too.
Marvin Piermont:
[in aside to Teenie]
Come here a minute. Get a load of this.
Marvin Piermont:
[speaking to their black carriage driver in an exaggerated southern drawl]
Pardon me, son, I didn't get a chance to talk to you on the way down here. How are conditions in this here portion of the world?
Driver:
[in posh British accent]
Oh, conditions are top hold, sir! Cheerio!
Marvin Piermont:
[humiliated]
Cheerio.
Teenie Moore:
[in British accent]
Well, Marvin. That taught you a lesson, didn't it?
Marvin Piermont:
[in New York accent]
Yeah, in English!
