Here's a toast to vaudeville, the greatest entertainment in the world. It made me what I am today, a papa. And it's pretty nice, I tell you. Having that little home down there on Long Island where you can take the wife and kiddies. Where you can lay off all summer long, in the country, instead of a crowded boarding house in the roaring '40s where there's nothing but streets to play in, like I had when I was a kid. What other business is like that, I ask you? There ain't none! Vaudeville, boy, you're something.
