I remembered Charlie's Bible, the one he was marking in black. I wondered in I could somehow walk from here, from this point across the whole world, that Bible in my hand. Reading it from cover-to-cover. Maybe finishing what he had started. What would I be left with when I return? A word? A sentence? Maybe nothing. And then I realized, I hadn't made anything for the long journey. Never walked alone.
