They couldn't do it. On mine either! Why, my slaves get better food and shelter than most white men.
Plantation Owner #2:
Its those runaways that cause all this war talk.
Plantation Owner #1:
Sure it is. Slaves have to be kept in tow. Every slave has to have a master.
Plantation Owner #2:
And any slave that doesn't have a master, ought to be shot.
Plantation Owner #1:
Shootin's too good for 'em. They ought to be hamstrung for a week, for instance. By the way, how about that last shipment of cotton?
