Andrzej Wajda:
Making "Katyn" became possible after the fall of the People's Republic of Poland. After 44 years of lies, when there was only one Soviet 'truth' - that the slaughter in Katyn was carried out by Germans. However, it was Stalin's crime and we had all the evidence needed to prove that as soon as in 1943.
