Emma:
Well, then maybe it's time you weren't. That's what we've both been waiting for the past eight months, isn't it? One of us to end it.
Daniel:
Oh, this relationship ended the moment Kerry died, and you know it.
Emma:
You selfish asshole!
Daniel:
God damn it, Emma! She's dead! Can't you accept that?
Emma:
She died because of you!
Daniel:
What are you talking about?
Emma:
You had to propose to me before we went for Ireland. Why couldn't you have just waited? Why did you have to do it then? If I had gone with her, she'd be alive and everything would be okay. Our lives would be okay.
[she begins to gasp for air]
Emma:
Oh, god. Oh, my god. Oh, god. It's just like college.
Daniel:
What?
Emma:
[crying]
She killed herself. I know she did. She tried it before when we were in college. I went out. I came back; I forgot my license, and she was unconscious on the floor. There was blood everywhere. She slit her wrists. I miss her so much.
Daniel:
[holding her to comfort her]
