Colonel John Reynolds:
[Curt and his father John are in his office and he starts to grow suspicious]
Is there something else?
Curt Reynolds:
Dad, I'm not gonna go.
Colonel John Reynolds:
[baffled]
What?
Curt Reynolds:
I'm not gonna go. I don't wanna go. I finally got friends here, now.
Colonel John Reynolds:
Curtis, maybe I didn't make myself clear. I'm being transferred. We leave in a week. Both of us.
Curt Reynolds:
I'm not gonna go.
[stands up]

Colonel John Reynolds:
Curtis!
Curt Reynolds:
What?
Colonel John Reynolds:
Son, I have tried to be very understanding of you, in the last few weeks. I let you have that motorcycle, I even put up with you wanting to be a rock-and-roll drummer because I know you'll outgrow it, but THIS is where I draw the line. I will NOT have you defy me on this, now, do you understand me? And don't think I don't know where this is coming from. Getting you away from that girl'd be the best thing that ever happened to you.
Curt Reynolds:
[frustrated]
Dad, I'm not going!
[he starts walking out of the office]

Colonel John Reynolds:
Curtis, I am not finished talking to you, yet!
[gets up from his desk to follow Curt]

Colonel John Reynolds:
Don't walk away from me!
[Curt goes back to his room to Julie]

Julie:
What's going on?
Curt Reynolds:
[putting a plaid shirt over his t-shirt]
My dad's being reassigned, again. I told him I'm not going.
Julie:
You're kidding!
Curt Reynolds:
[puts on his coat]
Nope, I'm not kidding. I'm on my own.
Julie:
[smiles]
You mean you're moving out?
Curt Reynolds:
[smiles]
Yep. It's just me and you.
[Julie laughs and they both kiss, as John storms in]

Colonel John Reynolds:
I'm not finished with you, yet!
Curt Reynolds:
Yes, you are.
[goes to get a bag from his closet]

Colonel John Reynolds:
Goddamn it, get back in my office!
Julie:
Hey, why don't you just leave him alone?
Colonel John Reynolds:
[to Curt]
Tell your friend to stay out of our business.
Curt Reynolds:
You can tell her yourself.
[to Julie]

Curt Reynolds:
I'm ready, Julie.
Julie:
Let's go.
[Curt starts to follow Julie out, but John angrily grabs him by the arm]

Colonel John Reynolds:
Damn it, you never acted like this when your mother was alive.
Curt Reynolds:
[yanks his arm away from John]
You keep your hands off of me! Freak.
