Major Thomas:
[later in court, questioning Corporal Sharp]
Have you not been saying in the local pubs that you would walk barefoot from Cape Town to Petersburg to be on a firing party to shoot Lieutenant Handcock?
Corporal Sharp:
[visibly shaken]
