Anna:
You have such a good life John, why would you want to destroy it?
John:
That's the problem. There are so many good things in my life, it weighs me down. There's so much to hold on to, so much I'm afraid of losing. If I say the wrong thing, if I show something to someone, if I let them see too much, I'll loose it. All that good, normal stuff: the job, house, kitchen, wife - gone. I need to know I can loose those things and be okay. That's what it means to be happy, knowing that.
Anna:
That's not what it means to be happy!
John:
Yes it is. You've never understood that, you panic whenever you think you're going to loose something, anything. You start breathing hard, and you have an attack. But just because you're afraid.
