Jill:
[voice breaking]
It's like what Mr. Durning was telling us about in 18th Century New England... the puritans would put sinners in pillories so that the townspeople would come by and spit on them.
Jamie:
Yeah, well I wonder if the puritans got all dressed up for their spitting.
